Why did you come to Vietnam?
I came to Vietnam for my job, for working here for 1 year.
Is it difficult to find a job in HCMC?
Actually I found my job before coming here and I did an interview online – via Skype. So that’s why I came here.
What do you like the most in Vietnam? Why?
I like so many things in Vietnam (smile).. First of all as people are very nice even with stranger people, they very polite and and make me feel very comfortable. Moreover, I like the food and the Vietnamese language too..it’s very interesting to learn; I mean even it’s difficult but it’s still interesting on the other way (smile). And I like Ho Chi Minh City, because this city is different from other cities in Vietnam, I like the energy of Ho Chi Minh City – the city with a lot of young people and very attractive..you know…it’s like they never go to sleep, they just have so many things to do all the time..(smile)… One more thing, I did not travel a lot but in the North of Vietnam, I like the landscape…because here in Vietnam, you have the seas, you have the mountains….I also interesting in the culture and the history of Vietnam…
How long have you stayed here and when will you decide to come back to your country?
I’ve been here since August..so it means around 6 months and I will be here until July. So I will go back to my country and work there when my working contract end here.
Do you think it is difficult to find a place to live in HCMC?
I think it’s not too difficult, it depends on what you are looking for but you can find different houses to share…uhmm… you also can find a flat…So it’s not difficult
Where do you live right now in Saigon? What do you think about your neighborhood?
I live in Binh Thanh District and I think it’s a very good location and I’m happy to live there. I’m very happy and very lucky for that choice. My neighborhood here is very interesting; it’s like Vietnamese lifestyle. So it’s not like other districts that has more expats….Here is just very close to Vietnamese lifestyle..So I’ve got the market near my home and in the street that you have all the Vietnamese houses. Everything is so nice…(smile). Yeah, Binh Thanh is a very good district to live.
What do you know about GlobeTrottr?
I knew GlobeTrottr when I was finding a place to live in HCMC when I arrive and I was talking with a guy who work for GlobeTrottr. I met a French guy to have a visit because he told me that he has a room for me. I didn’t know anything about GlobeTrottr before…after the visit I knew what GlobeTrottr was and everything…
Have you already experienced an agency like this one during your travels?
I don’t think that I have any experience like this before. And this is the first experience for me when I came to HCMC. My experience with GlobeTrottr is good.
According to you, on which points can we improve?
I would say that it would be great if you have one person who is the reference of the house because when I send a email to GlobeTrottr, I don’t know who am I talking to and who will serve me.
Can you describe Vietnam in one word?
In one word?? Just one?? (smile) it’s impossible (laugh). I would say COOL – the cool way. I would say..not only one word…RICHE in French. It’s like so many thing to discover in this country.
What is the biggest culture shock for you?
In HCMC?? My culture shock is the traffic and the noise.
What will be your next destination?
I will go back to France and work there.
